NAIROBI, (CAJ News) – KENYA’S football premiership side Sofapaka faces an unenviable task qualifying to the next round of the continental Confederations Cup after letting in two goals against Zimbabwean visitors FC Platinum.

Platinum beat the home team 2-1 in a encounter contested at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi on Sunday.

The Zimbabweans, who meant business from the onset, scored their vital goals through Brian Muzondiwa (26th min) and Donald Ngoma (75th min) to wrap the first leg, first round.

On the other hand, Sofapaka got their goal courtesy the boot of Fiston Abdoul in the 48th minute, but the hosts could not find an equalising goal.

Coached by former Zimbabwe Warriors captain Norman Mapeza, FC Platinum were the better side of the day as they dictated pace in all departments.

They could have scored more had it not been for wayward finishing.

The return leg will be played in Zvishavane, Midlands province, located some 300km southeast of the capital Harare.
