– SOUTH African Airways (SAA), the continent’s largest air carrier, has been awarded the continent’s best airline by a top United States travel magazine.

The Business Traveler also awarded SAA the “Best Business Class to Africa” following the airline’s excellent service across Africa and beyond.

The latest awards come after SAA was voted Skytrax’s Best Airline in Africa for the 12th consecutive year.

The awards were presented to SAA Acting Chief Executive Officer, Nico Bezuidenhout, at a ceremony at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, CA.

Bezuidenhout said it was a distinguished honour to receive such awards.

He expressed gratitude to the US magazine’s readers who chose SAA as their favourite airline in Africa.

“This further demonstrates SAA’s commitment to excellence and reinforces our belief, in keeping with our long-term turnaround strategy, that an outstanding customer experience is what makes a great airline,”said Bezuidenhout

SAA has flights plying Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport to New York’s JFK Airport linking Washington, DC-Dulles Airport back to Johannesburg offering a daily service.
