GABORONE – WHILE all the focus will be on the highly-anticipated African Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals kicking in Equatorial Guinea on Saturday, Botswana will be resuming its Premiership.

Unlike other countries deferring their leagues, Botswana is going ahead with its fixtures commencing on Friday, a day before the AFCON kicks off.

Five matches have been lined up for Saturday.

Former league champions, Mochudi Centre Chiefs, resume the campaign on Friday against Gunners Football Club at the National Stadium while log leaders Township Rollers host Police XI at the Molepolole Sports Complex on Friday.

Other matches lined for Saturday comprise the encounter pitting BR Highlanders against FC Satmos at Serowe Sports Complex, ECCO hosting Botswana Defence Force (BDF) XI at Francistown Stadium, Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) entertaining Nico at New Lobatse Stadium with Orapa United taking on Letlapeng at Itekeng Stadium in the final match for Saturday.

The following day, Motlakase will play Sankoyo at Serowe Sports Complex while Notwane entertains GU at SSKB Stadium to round up the weekend fixtures.
