LUSAKA – SAMSUNG Electronics, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, has announced a campaign to engage fans and help the youth in pursuing football in Africa during the Orange Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Equatorial Guinea.

The announcement of “I See Your Dreams “comes ahead of the tournament scheduled for this weekend until February 8.

The campaign will create excitement through engagement with football fans around Africa with a focus on Zambia and Ghana, whose teams have qualified for the tournament.

Samsung, the sponsor of Orange AFCON 2015, aims to inspire the youth and the people of Africa by connecting them with renowned players and bringing opportunities to make their football dreams come true through the initiative.

Under the theme I See Your Dreams, Samsung has also partnered with local soccer stars such as, Kennedy Mweene from Zambia and Andre Ayew from Ghana, who are recognized for their individual commitment to the sport and have worked hard to make their own dreams come true.

The programme will kick off with a School Donation campaign from Thursday and Friday at selected schools in Zambia and Ghana. Samsung will be donating football infrastructure to the schools such as training equipment and football gear for the students.

The Dream Maker campaign will end off with a Dream Camp where the youth will share their experiences and motivate the youth to continue dreaming and never give up.

The campaign will also feature retail activations at selected brand stores where customers will have the opportunity to meet their local soccer heroes and take part in wishing national team’s victory in the Orange AFCON 2015 with Samsung.

George Ferreira, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President for Samsung Africa, said Samsung recognised the importance and passion of football in the continent not only as a spectator sport but more importantly for its role in the social upliftment of our communities.
