NAIROBI – KENYA has intensified its fight against doping, a setback that is threatening the country’s athletics reputation, a senior official has said.

Athletics Kenya (AK) President, Isaiah Kiplagat, said his organisation would “leave no stone unturned” to root out the scourge.

“We are not after individual athletes, but are out to stop the doping menace which is about to ruin the name of Kenya on the world stage,” Kiplagat said.

He said his athletic body had entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Kenyan government to ensure that the use of drugs in athletics was completely gotten rid of.

“Athletes in the country will have to declare their whereabouts to the anti doping team who will be visiting them frequently to conduct tests,” Kiplagat said.

He urged agents to register their athletes with AK in order to provide their blood passports for the purposes of monitoring their blood values.
