MTN SA launches video-on-demand service

JOHANNESBURG – MTN South Africa has launched a subscription-based digital entertainment service the company said would give its local customers access to thousands of movies and their favourite television series on their devices.

Called MTN FrontRow Services, the video on demand offering has launched at a price of R179 a month.

MTN FrontRow Services comprise of MTN FrontRow Club and MTN FrontRow Premiere.

From launch, customers who subscribe to MTN FrontRow Club will pay a launch price of R179 a month, or R399 a month inclusive of a 10GB data bundle for streaming and viewing.

After three months, the normal subscription fee of R199 without bundles and R499 per month inclusive of the 10GB data bundles will apply.

Subscription to the service is available for both prepaid, postpaid, hybrid and My MTNChoice customers.

MTN said it will offer the first 1 000 customers who subscribe to MTN FrontRow Club their first month free.

These customers will be charged for data to use the service, but the R179 MTN FrontRow Club subscription fee will be waived for that month.
