JOHANNESBURG – THE ABSA Premiership resumes on Tuesday evening with a potential thriller between in-form Maritzburg United and Orlando Pirates.

The sides square up at Orlando Stadium, venue of this past weekend’s Telkom Knockout final between Supersport United and Platinum Stars.

Bottom side AmaZulu’s quest for a first league win continues when they entertain the University of Pretoria in Durban.

On Wednesday, high flying Kaizer Chiefs will be away to Bidvest Wits at the Bidvest Wits in a Gauteng Derby fixture that promises fireworks.

Second-placed Ajax Cape Town will also be travelling to Johannesburg for a crucial tie against Moroka Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.

Defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns will host revived SuperSport United in a Tshwane Derby to be played at Loftus Stadium.

The encounter will be the highlight of the midweek fixtures.

Elsewhere, Free State Stars will host Bloemfontein Celtic in a Free State Derby while rejuvenated Polokwane City host Platinum Stars at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The last match of the week pits vastly improved Chippa United against Black Aces in Port Elizabeth, in another encounter that promises fireorks.
