POLOKWANE – UNDERDOGS Polokwane City held wasteful Kaizer Chiefs to a goalless draw in an evenly balanced Absa Premiership match played at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Tuesday night.

Chief culprits Chiefs were George Lebese, Bernard Parker and Kingston Nkhatha, who fluffed glorious scoring opportunities for Amakhosi.

But Chiefs came closer to snatching an away victory when Nkhatha scored what appeared a genuine goal in the 38th minute, only for a controversial refereeing decision by Victor Gomez to spoil the party.

On the other hand City’s Esau Kanyenda nearly stole the limelight when his powerful shot at close range was brilliantly stopped by Brilliant Khuzwayo.

The man of the match made a triple save when he first took a dive to punch the ball back before another double punch to save the log leaders from a last minute embarrassment.

Chiefs maintain leadership of the log but have not won in three outings.
