Continent’s biggest ICT summit resumes in SA

CAPE TOWN – ABOUT 9 000 senior level decision makers from the information and communications technology in the continent have converged in Cape Town, South Africa for AfricaCom.

Said to be the biggest ICT summit, this year’s edition will run until Thursday at the town’s International Conference Centre (CITCC) with 300 speakers lined up to present.

Co-located events at the forum include AfricaCast: The future of African Video Content Consumption.

This year’s focus is the strategies of local and national African broadcasters in response to DTT changes and how technology providers are adapting to this.

The Multiplatform Focus Day will cover the future of OTT and Multiscreen services in the African continent; plus, global broadcasters will discuss and debate the future of African broadcasting.

The highlight of AfricaCom will be the annual Awards Ceremony.

They will be held on Wednesday.
