AFCON 2015 a big doubt

ACCRA – THE 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament is now in doubt with the two countries earlier on expected to host it following Morocco’s failure no longer willing to stage it.

Ghana and South Africa had earlier on expressed interest in hosting the football showcase after Morocco pulled out citing the Ebola outbreak.

Ghana Minister of Youth and Sports, Mahama Ayariga, announced the West African would not host the event.

This follows Morocco’s letter to the African soccer governing body – the Confederation of African Football (CAF)- saying it would not host the tournament.

Initially, CAF had written to both Ghana and South Africa to step in.

The tournament was scheduled for January nd the draw slated before the end of the year.
