Proudly Kenyan, Kiptoo rules in Germany

NAIROBI – VETERAN Kenya long distance runner, Mark Kiptoo, won the Frankfurt Marathon in Germany on Sunday as the East African country occupied all the podium finishes.

Apart from Kiptoo’s victory, fellow Kenya countrymen comprising Mike Kigen and Gilbert Yegon finished second and third respectively, a development which confirmed Kenya as the world’s top long distance running nation.

Kiptoo won Sunday’s race with 2 hours 6 minutes and 49 seconds while countrymen Kigen and Yegon recorded 2:06:59 and 2:07:08 respectively.
