COSATU to embarks on anti-E-toll campaign

Anti-e-tolls protest

JOHANNESBURG – THE Congress of South African Trades Union (COSATU) Gauteng Province will on Saturday embark on an anti – e – tolls drive slow campaign, an official has said.

The federation’s provincial secretary, Dumisani Dakile, said COSATU would not sit back as the poor people were being subjected to economic exploitation by the rich politicians and the capitalists through “Imposed” e – tolling system.

Addressing journalists in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, Dakile said the federation would take the campaign to new heights arguing that the planned drive slow scheduled for Saturday would culminate into the burning of the E-tags and E-Bills in front of Sanral offices in Tshwane.

Cosatu’s latest protest against the “Imposed” e – tolls comes a week the African National Congress (ANC) provincial leadership had condemned them.

The ANC Gauteng Province under Paul Mashatile vehemently argued that the e tolls would slow down Gauteng provincial economic growth if allowed to be implemented.
