POINTE NOIRE – NEWLY transformed Bafana Bafana beat the host nation Congo Republic 2-0 in an exciting 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier played in Pointe Noire, Congo on Saturday.

Two goals in the second half from Bongane Ndulula and Tokelo Rantie were enough to see Bafana Bafana remain on top of the four-nation league table with 10 points ahead of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, who on Saturday were set to play Sudan.

South Africa, under the guidance of Shakes Mashaba proved to be a formidable side with three convincing victories and a draw, a development that promises a bright future for Bafana Bafana ahead of next year’s African Cup of Nations (Afcon) championship in Morocco.

The victory on Saturday puts Bafana Bafana on comfortable position ahead of their return leg in Polokwane, South Africa next week.

Another win against Congo next week will see Bafana Bafana qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations finals as Group leaders.
