JOHANNESBURG – THE Absa Premiership makes an eagerly-anticipated return following a week’s absence due to the MTN 8 Final.

Newly-crowned champions of the tournament, Kaizer Chiefs are tipped to continue their perfect start to the league with a seventh straight victory when they host Maritzburg United.

Beaten finalists Orlando Pirates will be seeking to put the disappointment behind them when they visit Chippa United, the rejuvenated newcomers who are based in Port Elizabeth.

Another big encounter of the week pits unpredictable Mpumalanga Black Aces against Ajax Cape Town at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit. The vicitors have their tails up after an unbeaten start to the campaign.

While Ajax Cape Town are playing enterprising football under Roger de Sa, Aces have always proved difficult to beat at their own backyard.

Before the focus shifts to these matches, all roads will lead to the Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg on Friday where Wits host bottom-of-the-table Amazulu.

A day later, Free State Stars will entertain inconsistent Moroka Swallows while rekindled SuperSport United hosts Bloemfontein Celtic at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.

In Rustenburg, Platinum Stars host University of Pretoria while relegation survivors Polokwane City rounds up the weekend games with a crucial encounter against champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
