JOHANNESBURG – THE Absa Premiership takes a break this weekend to pave way for the MTN8 final between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
The MTN8 final is set for Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
However, all league matches would resume next Friday, with Bidvest Wits hosting struggling AmaZulu at Bidvest Stadium in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
The main fixture of the week will be that of log leaders Kaizer Chiefs against stubborn Maritzburg United at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday of 27th September.
Kaizer Chiefs, who to date have won all six-out-of-six league matches with 18 points in their bag boast match winning players in Kingston Nkhatha, industrious midifelder Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Willard Katsande, George Maluleke and man of the moment Mandla Masango to dethrone United.
Another exciting encounter includes the Black Aces versus Ajax Cape Town assignment at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
Another potential tie is the fixture between Chippa United against Orlando Pirates in Port Elizabeth.
Both teams recorded victories against their opponents last weekend when Chippa United beat Moroka Swallows 2-0 at Dobsonvile Stadium in Soweto while Orlando Pirates beat Bidvest Wits 1-0 at Orlando Stadium.
Elsewhere, Free State Stars host Moroka Swallows while revived SuperSport United entertain Bloemfontein Celtic in Pretoria.
Under new coach Gordon Igusend, SuperSport massacred Platinum Stars 3-1 at the same venue, which is Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.
