CAPE TOWN – GARTNER, the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company, has highlighted what executives from the firm said were the top ten technology trends that would be strategic for most organisations in the coming year.

At the ongoing Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Africa 2014 in Cape Town, the
trends listed included the merging of the real and virtual worlds, the
internet of things, 3D printing, advanced analytics, context-rich systems,
smart machines, cloud/client architecture, risk-based security and
self-protection, web-scale IT, software-defined infrastructure and
applications among others.

The Gartner Symposium/ITxpo is said to be the world’s most important
gathering of CIOs and senior IT executives.

The event delivers independent and objective content with the authority
and weight of the world’s leading IT research and advisory organization,
and provides access to the latest solutions from key technology providers.
