JOHANNESBURG – BATTLE lines have been drawn! May the better team of the day wins tonight.

South Africa’s Bafana Bafana is hosting Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Cape Town.

South Africa has never beaten Nigeria in Football International Federation Association (FIFA) competitions, but tonight, new Bafana national team head coach Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba promised to re-write the piece of history for the nation.

Both teams enter tonight’s encounter with different previous results with Nigeria having suffered a 3-2 home defeat to visiting Congo Brazaville in Lagos while Bafana Bafana massacred Sudan 3-0 in Khartoum.

South Africa will be looking forward to Doncaster Rovers midfielder Dean Furman, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Andile Jali and Mandla Masango.

Vast improving Kaizer Chiefs centre back, Mulomowandau Mathoho will again be called to be the nerve centre of Bafana Bafana in defence in order to protect the new captain and goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa.

On the other hand, Nigeria will depend on Efe Ambrose, captain Austin Ejide, Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel and Ogenyi Onazi Lazio to dislodge South Africa.

Bafana Bafana are leading the log standing while Nigeria anchors it.
