Joburg drive-slow to protest e-tolls

JOHANNESBURG – JOHANNESBURG traffic is set to come to a standstill on Tuesday when motorists protest the controversial electronic tolls.

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) is orchestrating the drive-slow.

COSATU Gauteng Provincial secretary, Dumisani Dakile, said the federation was making its input to the Gauteng e-toll panel, the drive-slows and the public burning of e-tags and bills.

Plans to reverse the e-tolls have previously failed.

Meanwhile, COSATU would also launch a campaign in support and solidarity with the dismissed Generations actors.

The soap directors fired the crew after they demanded better working conditions.
