New revelation for Mamelodi Sundowns, Kuda Mahachi

JOHANNESBURG – AN eagerly-anticipated clash between local giants, albeit struggling league sides, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates is the highlight of the resumption of the Absa Premiership.

The encounter is set to attract a full house at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Wednesday (tomorrow).

It comes on the back of an indifferent start to the new campaign with the defending champions, Sundowns, only managing one win, a loss and a draw in three matches.

Pirates have also come unstuck with two draws and a loss, despite a superior run in the MTN 8.

Meanwhile, Moroka Swallows will host Polokwane City at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on Tuesday smarting from a narrow 0-1 defeat at the hands of Sundowns.

In Cape Town, Ajax Cape Town will host stubborn Bidvest Wits at Athlone Stadium while Maritzburg United battle out with Chippa United at Harry Gwala Stadium in Maritzburg.

All the three matches kick-off at 19:30 on Tuesday.

However, the bulky of the midweek league matches will be played on Wednesday with University of Pretoria hosting struggling Free State Stars.
Elsewhere across the country, Platinum Stars will host former champions Kaizer Chiefs at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg, North West province, in another match potentially full of thrills.

The midweek encounter between Chiefs and Platinum Stars barely comes three days Chiefs had massacred Dikwena 3-0 in an MTN8 semifinal encounter played at FNB Stadium last Sunday.

The Absa Premiership completes the league matches with two encounters pitting AmaZulu against Bloemfontein Celtic in Durban while SuperSport United will entertain Black Aces at Atteridgeville Stadium in Pretoria.
