Swallows, Chiefs shine

JOHANNESBURG – FORGOTTEN Soweto giant, Moroka Swallows meant business from onset when they dismissed AmaZulu 2-1 in an
exciting Absa premiership played at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on Wednesday.
Swallows, who first accounted for Orlando Pirates 2-1 last week continued with their rich vein of form when on Wednesday
night beat AmaZulu with an identical 2-1 to move to the top of the 16-team Absa premiership.
Goals from Luvhengo Mungomeni and Lerato Chabangu were enough to see the Soweto soccer outfit collect the three crucial
points. AmaZulu scored their only goal through Goodman Dlamini.
In an another exciting development, another Soweto giant, Kaizer Chiefs, edged Mpumalanga Black Aces 2-1 in a tightly
contested encounter at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Wednesday.
Goals from Mandla Masango and Reneilwe Letsholonyane gave Amakhosi the the three vital points while Mpumalanga found the
target courtesy of the boot of Aubrey Ngoma.
Elsewhere across the country, Orlando Pirates were held to a 2-2 draw by Bloemfontein Celtic at the Free State Stadium.
The hosts – Celtic scored first through Joel Mogorosi and Alfred Ndengane while Orlando Pirates responded through a double
from Oupa Manyisa.
In Cape Town, Ajax Cape Town shocked Mamelodi Sundowns, whom they narrowly edged 1-0 at Athlone Stadium while Maritzburg
United beat Polokwane City 2 – 1 in Maritzburg.
