FNB reduces iPhones offers

JOHANNESBURG – FIRST National Bank (FNB) said it had reduced its pricing on iPhones for new and existing customers who sign up for this offer during the month of August.
This follows estimations that South Africa’s smart phone user base is growing rapidly and it is estimated that there will be around 2 million new smart phone users by the end of 2014.
This rapid pace of technology and mobile advancement means that whether by choice or necessity, consumers are connected to the world through a smart device, said Kartik Mistry, Head of Smart Devices at FNB.
“It has always been our aim to unlock this world of connectivity for our customers particularly so that they are able to bank digitally 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the recently revamped FNB Banking App or Online banking, on the device of their choice,” said Mistry.
“Many consumers who aspire to own devices such as an Apple iPhone are often not able or willing to pay the prices of the devices when they first hit the market.
“By cutting down the monthly fee and providing an interest free contract, we are able to give a broader customer base access to a smart phone brand that is still one of our top sellers,” continued Mistry.
Since the owning of a smart phone device is only the first step to leading a connected life, FNB has boosted their Apple tablet deals by adding 1GB of monthly Vodacom data, for 24 months, the officials said.
