CAPE TOWN – THE family of the South African pilot aboard the airplane suspected rebels shot down in Malaysia said it was in the dark regarding his death.

Cameron Dalziel, was one of the pilots on the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 shot down by suspected Ukraine rebels.

More than 280 passengers and 15 crew members perished.

It is widely believed that Dalziel was travelling using a dual United Kingdom /South African citizenship died alongside 297 other passengers aboard the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 last week.

“We are desperate for the truth. The only way we can explain the loss of Cameron to his 14-year-old son, Sheldon, who worshipped him, is by getting honest answers,” his wife Reine is quoted as saying.

Clayson Monyela, Department of International Relations and Co-operation spokesman, was quoted as saying there was little if anything government could do.
