HARARE – SOUTH African premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns’ preparations for both Orange CAF Champions League and the PSL defence are taking shape following impressive victories in their mission to Zimbabwe.

The Pretoria based soccer outfit first accounted a narrow 1-0 victory over Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo on Saturday before edging CAPS United with an identical 1-0 in another practice encounter at the giant National Stadium in Harare on Tuesday.

The Brazilians were set to meet the country’s premiership defending champions Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium, the country’s home of football.

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane travelled to Zimbabwe with a team composed of three Zimbabwe internationals comprising hitman Cuthbert Malajila, Khama Billiart and veteran midfielder-cum-defender Esrom Nyandoro.

Apart from the trio Zimbabwean players, Sundowns has two Zambians in goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene and youngster Mukuka Mulenga, who joined the Pretoria outfit when the 2013/2014 season began.
