Commonwealth announces CAJ News for media partnership

JOHANNESBURG – CENTRE for African Journalists (CAJ) News, the Pan African premier news service provider, has entered a partnership with the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) for the latter’s forum scheduled for Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The CTO summit is set for September 8-10, 2014.
Leading telecommunications experts, chief executive officers (CEOs), chief information officers (CIOs), chief technical officers (CTOs) and government representatives are expected to participate at the summit.
Announcing the selection of CAJ News Africa as its media partner, CTO’s Senior Communications Officer, Srini Srinivasan, said CAJ News would distribute their news across Africa and the Asian continents.
“CAJ News will disseminate / publish all CTO press releases and articles on its online communication portals for distribution to its subscribers. CAJ News will connect to CTO social media channels and will post information about their participation and update regularly,” said Srinivasan.
CAJ News’ Chief Executive and Editor-in-Chief, Savious-Parker Kwinika, said the selection for the partnership was testimony and endorsement of CAJ News as Africa’s leading news service provider.
“We feel highly honoured by the CTO. We are humbled, excited and motivated. We will execute our duty diligently and excellently.
“As expected, we would continue working with our many media partners across Africa, Asia, Europe and the US in providing the widest coverage,” Kwinika said.
Meanwhile, the theme for this year’s CTO Forum is “ICTs for Development: From Access to Inclusive and Innovative Services.”
The CTO Forum is the premier ICT conference of the Commonwealth.
Held immediately preceding the CTO Council meeting, this event draws high level participation from ICT ministries, regulators and operators from across the Commonwealth.
The 2014 Forum will focus on key aspects of ICT access and utilisation including infrastructure, connectivity, applications, value added services, data and security.
Topics expected to be discussed at the Summit comprise, Building a sustainable ICT Infrastructure: challenges and opportunities, Evaluating the benefits of e-Commerce in emerging markets.
Other topics will cover Mobile technologies, applications and VAS, Creating an efficient e-Governance system, Transparency and Open Government: The role of Open Data, Cloud-Based Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Financing technological developments in the commonwealth among others.
