House approves N54 bn NCC’s Appropriation budget

LAGOS – THE House of Representatives has approved about N54 billion as the budget of the the 2014 Appropriation Bill for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

Leader of the House, Mulikat Akande- Adeola, the leader of the house,
presented on the floor.

It was unanimously passed when Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha, called for a vote.

The bill is for an Act to authorise the issue from the Statutory Revenue
Fund of the NCC the total sum of N54,4 billion.

Of the amount, N14,8 billion is for recurrent expenditure and N7,35 billion is for transfer to the Federal Government. The sum of N8,4 billion is for transfer to the Universal Service Fund (USPF).

An additional sum of N8, billion is expected to be transferred from reserves while the balance is for capital and special projects for the year ending December 31 this year.
