LAGOS – AERO Contractors announced its Abuja-bound passengers would now land at the Kaduna Airport following the closure of Abuja International Airport runway for repairs.

“Intending passengers to Abuja for that period may wish to consider our alternate flights to Kaduna due to its proximity to Abuja,” Aero stated.

Aero, one of the country’s biggest airlines, offered its apologies to affected passengers.

“We regret all inconveniences the situation may cause you. All our regular flight operations into Abuja will be resumed by Monday July 7,” Aero stated.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) announced earlier on Wednesday the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja will be closed to traffic for maintenance from this coming Saturday to Monday.

The facility upgrade, according to FAAN, was in line with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority-approved Safety and Standard and Recommended Practices.

The airports agency further noted that the exercise would further elevate safety and security.

There will be no flights to the facility for the three days.
